This page shows the ongoing development of Galahs Corner Forum and Home page since redeveolpment began in March 2004. In all it took around 8 months to complete the development and design during which time the site was continually online.

This is the base template on which Galahs Corner forum began and was built.

Known as phpBB subSilver it is the basis from which all phpBB forums are developed.

The next step was to select an already available template on which to work the design that I envisaged for Galahs Corner forum.

The Template smartDark was chosen for this purpose and the colour scheme changed in the .css files to suit the requirements.

Coldsteel Template is a template that I used to take some features from including the "silver" header bars and navigation bar to give these sections a 2 dimensionsal effect.

From the Xbox template came a trial background which is grey on this version and which I changed to green to suit Galahs Corner.

This background is not currently used as even though it looked good, it managed to be referred to as Grandmothers Tea Towel.

As I was looking to take away the flat look of the background and because the square design that came about using the Xbox background was not really suitable, I found Macinscott template which again, even though is grey, showed lines that when I changed to green, gave a corrugated effect to the background.

I had Garfield design a number of different backgrounds that would represent Galahs Corner more aptly and in the end, the Gum leaf design we see today was chosen for that purpose.

Something was still not quite right with the overall design and for some time I had been considering changing the banner. That change came about as a result of the corrugated background and came up with the design which is shown below.

After much consideration the design above was too bland for my liking and the gum leaf design background would now make its way back into the final design. With it would come a new banner and complete overhaul of the menu which is now known as Gumtree Central. Below is the finished product that is now known as Galahs Corner Gum Tree.

After 12 months with the above design it was decided to make a few changes to brighten the site up and below is the changes that were made during November 2005.

To complete the Galahs Corner package, many hours of work and many additions and modifications were made to the entire site, not just the forum.

The entire package has been put together with the express purpose of having a one stop website that is user friendly, fun and enjoyable for all ages.

The package includes the web site proper, www.galahscorner.com. Online Shopping. The forum with its own portal page. Competitions and Freebies.

Hundreds of smilies in the forum using the smilie database.. A Photo Album which is easy to use. A Calender for members to add events to and many other features too numerous to mention.

The background and Banner on Galahs Corner were designed by Garfield and for that I owe him my thanks and gratitude for putting up with my *looking for perfection* attitude at the time.
